Hi Folks!
I work for a Vacuum shop. at one location today, somebody's vacuum bag broke so i was cleaning it up with our 1970's Beam Central Vacuum, and i got to thinking.
This morning i spilled rice on the kitchen floor. I wanted to clean it up in a fun manor so when i got off work i connected our 40 Foot Central Vacuum hose, a 10 Foot Electrolux metal canister hose, 2 5 foot Electrolux upright hoses, a 5 foot Electrolux hose and a 5 foot random hose to complete the whole thing.
This Electrolux only pulls about 50 on the suction meter my buddy has, yet it had good power at the end! Here it is

Hi vacuumlad1650

That's awesome!

In the video I kept thinking why is a cup of coffee on the floor? and gasped thinking you would tip it over, then realized it was a floor mat. By the way, I love those floors.

Have fun with the 80 foot hose.

Thanks, Alex! we have very little carpet, and i prefer carpet. Mother likes her Hardwood! She also loves coffee, explaining the mat. The hose completely loses suction, but i used it without the woven hose in there and got twice the suction! I can do the whole house minus the basement this way!

I love hardwoods too, so much easier to clean. My housemate (his house) is thinking of getting a central vac. I told him fine, get one, but don't expect me to give up my Electrolux LX, or Kirby Classic III (for the area rugs) and use a central! It's a matter of using the machine I love, and the LX has strong emotional memories.

On another note, I'm hoping you plan to attend the convention in June. I'm going, and hope we can meet.

And like your mom, I love my coffee too.

Alex
im quite tempted to come to the convention. Even better my buddy is one of the Hosts as well as we live an hour from Chicago. Hope to come, but im not sure yet
Hardwood is easier to clean but the thrill of cleaning carpets with an upright or powernozzle is much better!

Hi Andy:

I didn't notice you drop the camera. As to living an hour from Chicago, I have a good idea of where you live as V.C.C.C. headquarters was near there. Naperville, Illinois was home from August, 1985 to May, 95, and prior to that I lived in Lombard. And I believe the convention is being held in Oakbrook, which I also know almost as well as Oak Park.

So, unless things change with my mom and I'm needed in Laporte, Indiana, I intend to be there at least a day early and join in the fun. Hope to see you there so we can talk Electrolux.

And here's a picture of one of the conventions I attended when I brought my 'kids' with me for all to see.

A few of my other 'kids,' at the same convention. I think this was in 05.
