I talked with a vacuum cleaner salesperson who mentioned a Model CB2000 canister with the Prolux label that was sold either in stores or catalogs. He couldn't remember any specifics such as the years of production or how it was sold, but he mentioned that when something was sold in stores (not door-to-door, catalogs, fairs, or TV) the word "by" preceded "Electrolux" on the label (like the one on the power nozzle, model N116B, below. I've only heard of Prolux uprights until now. It seems that some were sold by salespersons and some were sold in stores based on the label wording--notice that there's no "by" on the second photo's label below. There was also a Prolux Plus upright which included attachments. All the photos are from eBay.

Does anyone have any more information about the Prolux CB2000 or other Prolux vacuums?

No info, but it has a nice ring to it.

ProLux should have been used instead of the Aerus name.

I know that they were sold at the dealers, maybe some hospitality catalogs offered them if they had a partnership with Electrolux. Prolux was just what they called their commercial line, any regular consumer could buy the commercial machine if they wanted. I remember my lux dealer now aerus dealer having them displayed and still do to this day. Not just the one store any lux store always has the commercial model on display for sale to anyone.

I have a service manual for the CB2000 Prolux dated 1992 if that helps date it

Thanks for your responses. Here is a photo from another thread (posted by devinator1977) of a CB2000 fact sheet with the gray "Electrolux" label power nozzle (not Prolux), so I'm guessing the "Prolux by Electrolux" may have been the catalog version and the one below the door-to-door version without the "Prolux" label.

I also found a completed eBay listing of a Prolux CB2000 without the power nozzle. The motor housing on that one is light gray which is different than the one in the first photo that looks like both the motor housing and canister are the same color.

The 3rd photo shows the original 1983 CB2000 posted by John Anderson (tig21er) with a PN-5C

Last is an online photo of a "Prolux by Electrolux" upright (model 1572E) which must have been a catalog option.
