Well, finally, my vacuums are all in one place (instead of scattered and hidden in various corners of the house). It was driving me crazy having everything so spread out and disorderly like it was, so I decided to clear out the shelves in the basement (which involved a lot of clearing out the basement as well!), and get everything nice and neat. Well, pheew. It feels so great to be done now. Now onto the vacuums themselves!

Poor little Kirby on the right works great, but missing its head; anyone have one? The mismatched green Kirby is my daily driver right now while I finish polishing the red one, and ALL Convertibles need new cords, and two need new switches. Oh, and the Hoover 835's wheels are really rough (like unrollable rough). Any parts anyone? And yes, I still need to clean up a lot of the vacs (I wish we could buy time!)

I love my cannisters :)

Oh, and here's a really bad pic (camera acts up sometimes) of the Kirby I'm polishing right now (steel wool and mother's). What do you think?

Here's a bad before pic of the Kirby I'm polishing (on the right).

Fantastic setup, Nick!!!

And of course those shelves can keep going right up to the ceiling & wall to doorframe as the little suckers multiply...as we know they do. Like Rabbits & Gerbils.

Oooooh, is that the last version light blue XXX with the embossed petal squares that matches the LX? Nice.

I've decided I need to invest in another shelf too, cause I want to display some cylinders on profile as well as racking them like torpedoes.

Thx so much :). I'm so happy that its all neat now. And haha, I just realized I left the poor dial-a-matic in the closet upstairs! I knew I forgot something...

Great job Nick!! Don't you just love it when things are in order? I noticed that you have a couple empty spots on those shelves, I am sure they won't be that way for long.

Nice Display, Nick!

Nice machines, too! Looks like your polishing is coming along nicely, is that a model 518? The mismatched Kirby looks to me like a Sanitronic VII with a D-80 bag.

That is a nice display - I like those shelves. Room for large and small displays and everything gets it's own "box" for individuality! I really need to come up with a better system for my vacs as well, too many lined up with no pizazz!

Nice Job, Nick
I agree with Greg, it really makes a difference to have "personal space" for each machine.
They stand out and appear more interesting.
Great Job!!!
I look forward to the day when I have space to organize my collection the way you have.
Enjoy!!!
Pat

Thx for all the great comments :). I can't wait to fill it up more, and I actually have another shelf unit that I could use later, its just cluttered with stuff right now. And yea, I love the "personal space" around each vacuum. But I remember a while back I saw a pic of some AMAZING display of mostly (or all) Hoovers. Was it Hoovercelebrity's? Anyways, I just remember that was one of the best displays I've seen. They also had a shelf of constellations; that was awesome too. Sound familiar?

Hey Nick,
Yea, I think that was Fred's collection (HooverCelebrity)
He has a wonderful collection, tons of Hoovers but also many others ... great cross section of machines.
He does a wonderful "spa treatment" on most everything.
Hey Fred, how about sharing some current pics??
Would love to take a virtual tour until I get out to see it in person.
Pat

As Rosemary Clooney said,

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
"Come on a my house". I must think of better ways to "display" everything here. 125 plus HOOVERS, books, ads, etc deserve to be proplerly shown. Want to come here??
