Yesterday there was a bingo card in the mail - scratch off the numbers and if you get a line, box, X, etc. then you win 1 of several available prizes. Of course every card is a winner LOL One of the stipulations to claim the prize is to agree to an in home air quality product demonstration :-) There was no indication if this was from Filter Queen, Rainbow, etc. They are the only 2 companies I have previously been contacted by. I'm curious as to who it is but I don't know if I am really up for their 2 hour or longer sales pitch. The last one I had was from Filter Queen...the girl was mighty disappointed when I refused to buy after showing her my recently purchased FQ in the closet LOL

The Kirby guys came by last year & boasting that my vacuum wasn't as good as theirs . . . really? LoL so they kept asking me what I have & kept telling them it was non of their business so they finally said it was the new Kirby Avalir & it would cost me $1950. I couldn't stop laughing & I pulled mine out & said "oh you mean this? And by the way this only cost me $325 fully kitted out registered in my name." They asked where did I get it, wasn't going to tell them but I did tell them they were hard pressed to sell any in the neighborhood because since people knew how much I paid for mine. So I say go have some fun!! Wreck their last nerve & when they say they have to sell this in order to buy groceries tell them after getting it all you have is a pea & a piece of cheese!

My favorite is to let them demo the new machine. Then let them explain why I need a new vacuum. When mine (1987 Heritage II) that is now 29 yrs old still cleans as well as a new vacuum. The test filters don't show any significant signs of dirt. You need a magnifying glass to find the dust on the filters.

This has happened three times. Once when the G 3 came out, then with the Sentria and once with the Rainbow E 2. The Rainbow salesman was really surprised that he couldn't get any dirt out of the carpet.
