Our eyes met from across the room. Your mouth quirked, the slightest of smiles, an invitation. I secured two glasses of champagne from a passing waiter, and wove through the party crowd. It was as if only you and I existed.

Your perfume smelled of lilac, and up close your flawless skin and deep red lips were all the more alluring for being untouched by make-up. You broke into the most winning of smiles, hooked your arm in mine, and said "the belt is broken on my Kirby, can you help me?"

Ever the gallant, I ordered Genuine Kirby 301291 belts -- 6 of them, enough for years of faithful service -- and had them shipped express to your pied a terre. Following exquisitely detailed instructions on Youtube, I was able to install one of the belts. Your gleaming Kirby was back in business.

And we vacuumed. Oh how we vacuumed. It was a dream come true, where dust and pet hair simply ceased to be.
