YES, you have read the title most correctly.

Seems like Miele and Bosch have been sleeping together. Tell tale clues are the Bosch suction tubes.

Being the ex-owner of a Bosch vacuum I can see a few similarities here. Nice design though!

That's amazing! It looks better than any other bagless canister I have seen. It also have certain solid quality look to it.
My guess is that Miele did this just because the bagless vacuums are so hugely popular and Miele lost ALOT customers and profit making just a bagged vacuums.
It's apparently single cyclone system, but if it's done right it can be very good.

I'm not sure I'd go down the bagless line as I'm very happy with my C3.
But it looks interesting :-)

Looks amazing I hope they do a model with a remote control on the handle and a powerhead model.

Single cyclonic.

I have to say, I'm very disapointed. Miele have spent years flogging their bagged machines and stuck to their guns that bags are better. Regardless of opion on bagged vs. bagless, I've lost respect for Miele for not sticking with that they believe in. This is like Dyson coming out with a bagged machine!

I agree with you but they are in business to make money. So they are offering their customers a choice of either a bagged or a bagless cleaner. I think that's fair enough.
It will be interesting to see how its received.

It looks like a very big capacity, and is disappointed it's a single cyclone but wait and see, but in design it looks amazing looks very modern. And I wonder when this will be released

I think we can all conclude that no matter what Meile believe in, they've had to diversify to stay in the game.

Yes this is true. Hopefully they haven't produced a dud. A single cyclone does not inspire confidence but we shall see.

I've actually just noticed something. Potentially, is this the first ever bagless vacuum with variable power?

Vari power?

No Lux had them on the bagless cylinders for a few years. That T7 multicyclonic I have is variable.

How does variable power work with cyclones? When you lower the power the centrifugal force will also be weaker meaning the dirt won't be thrown out of the air?

Bosch's bagless cylinders have had variable suction for quite a while though, as have Morphy Richards with their Vorticity vacs and those before them.

Im neutral about this Miele - after all, they have already done the bagless route via the robotic vacuum, so this new vac seems to me to be just another alternative.

Yes I have nothing against it. If they were to replace bagged for bagless that would be another matter.

Variable power is something that the multi cyclonic vacuums very rarely have. Small cyclones have to have very accurate airflow in them. Otherwise cyclonic action is disturbed and it can clog the small cyclones. For example Dyson doesn't have any model with the variable power. In single cyclonic vacuums (like this Miele apparently is) variable power is much more popular. Of course it weakens the cyclonic action also in these. It just isn't so crucial.
For me this new bagless Miele is very welcome surprise.

Dont have much time for Miele. There customer service sucks and their machines are not as well made as people make them out to be.

Don't like their practices recently either. I still have a problem with their manufacturing being shifted to China for their lower end models. There is no excuse for it. They haven't lowered their prices to match this, and Miele made such a big deal about how "all parts are manufactured in house in our state of the art facility in Germany, with German quality and technology"

I still dont see SEBO making such moves and they probably won't as their business model is working for them.

Nice looking vacuum, but nah.

I've found Miele's customer service to be excellent. Never had a problem with them
As I've said previously Miele cylinders will last for many years if you look after them. 10 to 15 years. Not bad considering you can pick up a basic C3 for£150 :-)

Mesh filter

Mesh filter doesn't mean anything bad.Even the best Dyson vacuums use the mesh filter or I should correct mesh screen. This Miele seems to use best kind of single cyclone system. It means that cyclone is separate from the bin and cyclone has small diameter = more separation. All single cyclone vacuums aren't the same. Worst are where the filter is in the bin.

miele power nozzles

I have heard that the canister models that use an electric powerhead actually have a cord that connects to the canister and raps around the hose instead of an actual electric hose, is this the case? If so, that's definitely not as good of a design.

Mike, it's currently the only powernozzle model that Miele offer in the UK since the Electro Comfort was discontinued. See link below.

Miele have a new power nozzle cleaner on their website, but no picture at the moment.

I has the same power nozzle as the £250 model, but has an electro hose and tube. The instruction book is available to view.
