So I have recently won a job lot of 4 machines those include an Electrolux cylinder model 180, a Hoover Turboboost and a Hoover Senior 612, and of course this, it was in quite a sorry state despite the seller saying it was fully working, why anyone would use a machine of that state in their home I will never know, anyway enough of me here are the pics.

My main concern was the filter.

And I was right, in typical vortex fashion the filter is completely caked, this is something that these machines were famous for, having an inefficient separation process mixed with very small air path put a lot of extra strain on what was a pure power motor.

One last shot I forgot to put in before of the triple vortex system, I cant believe how small the hole for the air to travel through is.

Trying to take the handle off without no prior knowledge isn't the easiest task, there are 3 hidden screws, one under a cap next to the filter cover, one under the Hoover logo and another under the on/off switch.

I was very surprised that considering the size of the hose the entry point is very think, it looks like a cheap bit of B&Q PVC piping.

When a machine is in a very sorry state like this I cant just let it sit there, I like knowing that it is fully cleaned when I use it after refurb. :)

That looks great. I saw that auction, are you going to strip that Turbopower down in the same way? That TP is damn rare, be careful with it!

I'm amazed that vortex hasn't done it's motor in by now with all that dust! Mine was 70% cleaner when I got it yet the motor was knackered!

Nice job though, 3 more to go...
