But how does it dust your ceiling fans? Clean your stairs? Vacuum your sofa cushions? Until they come out with a robot vacuum to which a HOSE and ATTACHMENTS can be attached, so it will truly be a "vacuum cleaner", I say "no thanks".

So...

By that logic Tom Tacony ULWs aren't truly vacuums then?

Ah yes, that would be the Dyson DC06 - which, incidentally, never went into production because it would have cost at least a couple of thousand Pounds Sterling.

A shame, because I rather liked that idea too.

Looks like a cheap Roomba copy to me! If I WAS interested, why would I buy some cheap knockoff, which if it ever breaks most likely can't be repaired, when I can buy the genuine article for slightly more & have peace of mind if it breaks?

Just another self propelled floor sweeper without a handle!!Will it stop if it encounters a doggy "doughnut" or just continue and spread it around?

A Riccar ULW actually has suction and is a real vacuum cleaner capable of CLEANING carpets. Robots are certainly anything other than vacuum cleaners. A ULW (ultra light weight) upright may not have attachments, but it's mostly sold with a shoulder vac (the Sport) for dusting above the floors as a package.
