I need help from the Charles, Walking, Talking, Lux History Encyclopedia Lester....

Congratulations BTW on the Cinci' gig....Fantastic!!!!

OK. I have recently acquired a Lux XI, a later one with the square cord connector socket. I do have some questions about the machine though.

1. It came with a filter "basket" and a thin, one cloth layer of a filter. Says E-Lux Disinfection written on it. Also has a red cross in the center. Is that all there was to it? Or should there also have been something thicker as in the XII and XXX filters. The piece of cloth sits in between the two halves of the holder and sits at the motor end of the tank after the bag. It is held in only by friction, no special clamps or anything. Is this correct?

2. The switch. Was there a knob, piece of rubber, anything on the switch "toggle" for lack of a better term? It appears in some of your photos on your website that there was. Just wondering what type of material it is or how it fastened on.

Any assistance you might be able to offer on this subject would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Rick
