Hey, what if there were a Premium Plus SupraLite from Riccar which has 3 rows of replaceable brushstrips (instead of 2), a dirt sensor, a metal bottom plate, maybe a longer cord and perhaps an extra year of warranty (with all the rest of the features being the same as the Premium SupraLite except for the color)? Would anyone like to get one?

Since all the ULW models (with the exception of the entry level machines) use the same motor - it wouldn't clean any better than what is currently the Premium model. A metal soleplate would make the machine slightly heavier, but wouldn't make it clean better either. Three rows of brushes in the small brush cavity would not help the cleaning ability either.

So no wonder they don't make a lightweight upright with 3 rows of bristles on the roller. But I was mentioning the addition of the metal soleplate only to make the product more durable, not to make it clean better. It's true that a steel plate would make the item heavier but what if we added an aluminum baseplate instead?

Plated, polished floor shoes make sense-they are easier to push.Plastic and aluminum are soft and wear out when pushed over various flooring surfaces. And they can have dirt particles embedded in them from use-and they serve as an abrasive to scratch delicate, polished flooring. The steel show is hard enough to dirt particles can't imbed into them.
