Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out which electrolux model my mom has, it doesn't have a model number on it that we could find, so I will describe it as best I can. She bought it new around 1982 or 1983. It has the automatic cord winder. The color is dark and light gray. It's plastic, and the hose it came with was not ridged, it is covered with the cloth hose sock. On the top of the canister is the power switch, and it slides back and forth. The power nozzle that it came with does not have a power switch. It takes the classic c bags. The sound of the motor is very similar to what the Eureka and Airway canisters from the 1950's sound like, got to check those out in the vacuum museum. The vacuum still works great, although I think the power nozzle has broken. That doesn't really matter though since she removed her carpet and now has mostly all hard wood floors. There is also a place to hold an attachment on the top of the canister, probably a dusting brush. Any thoughts as to which model this is?

It sounds like a Silverado Special, not a Silverado DeLuxe, the Special has a slide switch, the Silverado DeLuxe has a rocker switch.

power switch

The switch on hers is definitely not a rocker switch, it moves back and forth, but the switch itself stays flat.
