I will try to keep this concise so that all who read may feel the need to contribute.

1.I want to restore a Hoover 652C to near perfection.

2.So My friend, God bless him, bought me one in pretty good nick.

3.It needs a respray and perhaps a new hood (A bit scuffed) and the bag has a patch on the back.

4.The motor works and looks (from the outside) to be great, but I wan't to strip it down and understand it -If there is a walkthrough on how to do this - and there really should be if not (for the future peosperity of this hobby)- please point me in the right direction.

5. any tips on how to sand and regloss the natural finish of the plastic hood by heating etc, or better still where to find a replacement.

6. Best place to find any replacement parts.
In particular:
New hood.
New Bag.

7. My main interest is to take pride in stripping this old hoover down to every nut and bolt and restoring it to as close as my ability allows, a specimen that will last for another 40 years or more and still look good then, outliving me for someone else to enjoy. In a nutshell I want to know how it ALL works.


So If anyeone has any help, directions, parts, or anything they can help with it would be greatly appreciated.
