I know I'm a little behind the curve, but I just got one of these cool little machines. I am just curious if anyone has ever tried to rebuild one of the battery packs for this machine? I ran the conditioning cycle to no real avail. I just think it would be fun to get this running again. I also was curious if anyone new of any pacs for sale, or if there is still a way to get them from Westinghouse/Salton?

Thanks for your help guys!!!

I used to have one...

I bought it off ebay. It came with two shot batteries so I got a full refund. I got a quote to have one rebuilt for $100- no way. I threw it away but I now regret doing that because my fantom wildcat needs a brushroll bearing and the westinghouse's is identical.

Yeah, the battery place here wouldn't even give me a firm quote, just said it's more than the vacuum is worth, which I'm aware of. I just want to get it to work for me... haha I don't intend to get rid of it anytime soon. I'm thinking I might try and rebuild it myself, just haven't tried anything like that before.

I've got one with the same issue, batteries shot. Is it possible to convert it to be plugged in instead of wireless?

That would be awesome if there was a way you could rig up a converter and a cord. That would make for one heck of a light vacuum. I'm gonna tear into one of my battery packs right now if I can find the correct torx bit. We shall see what I find, and if I can find anything similar to replace them with.

If you have not opened the pack yet what you will find is 12 batteries that I think are "c" sized all connected together with a positive, negative and ground wire, if I remember correctly the cheapest I could find 12 NiCd "c" batteries was around $120 plus you would need a solder and a soldering gun. So you could do this project diy for around $150ish.

I am actually in the process of saving up some extra cash so this can be a project down the road. I'm really excited about it, and wish that I could get it up and running sooner, but money just doesn't allow right now.

If anyone might have on of these that they weren't wanting anymore, I would love to see what you might want for it. I haven't gotten this one running yet, but I have a feeling I'm gonna like it.
