What were the companies in 1910 that made central vacuums? We have ~1.5" galvanized pipe from the Basement ceiling to the 1st and second floor main hall ways. Small custom cabinet doors are built into the redwood paneling @ ~ 3ft off the floor. The great grandson of original owner said they were for a central vacuum system. They also had solar water heating in the house! Want to find out what systems were available to get one and install it in our home. Currently the pipes are being used for phone, network and TV cable lines :)

I'm not an expert in central vacuum systems. The only one I've ever used was in a Winnebago we had back in the '70s. But I seem to recall a thread on here within the past month or two where somebody had acquired a central vacuum system of the vintage you're talking about. I don't remember what the brand was, though.
