I picked up a Hoover Elite today on my way back from Wal*Mart..It was sitting by the junk pile at the Salvation Army as I was dropping off some stuff. The guy said it didn't work and I asked if I could take it he said sure! I brought it home took it apart cleaned out a massive clog of I really don't even know and put on a new belt and it works GREAT! Its now awaiting its total disassemble and scrub. I was wondering if anyone can help me identify the time frame it was made?? The S/N is 049400122488 Model U4671-930 Its the 7.2amp Model, Cleaning effectiveness is 17.0 It doesn't seem to have been used much as the hood has NO dents/scratches in it and the tools are like brand new. Thanks guys and girls!

That was made in 04/94. Hoover began doing this around 1987 or so with the first 4 numbers of the serial number indicating the month and year.

That would have been an awful waste if it had gone to the dumpster. There are a couple of similar cleaners in the Goodwill a little south of me. That grey is a nice soothing color too.

I like the grey color too!
