A while back I wrote a couple of people asking if they had a clue as to what something was that I got with a Rexair. It turns out it's from a very early Hoover Model 102, 103, Junior or Senior. It connects the hose to the attachments part number D4054. It shows the part in picture #2.

Congrats!

I'm sure it wasn't keeping you up at night, but it's nice to have little mysteries solved. Did you find it from a chance encounter with an old advert, or was it a feverish search filled with action and adventure (perhaps raiding an ancient tomb)?

Good bit of detective work.
