I stopped by a local thrift store to have a look at what vacuums they had. In the hand vacuum section I found an interesting box, inside I found a J.C Penney car vacuum. I have never seen one quite like this before. Its missing the attachments, but I am always on the hunt for Penncrest or J.C Penney vacuums so I grabbed it for $3.00. I think it looks pretty cool in its box!

Made in Japan as well. In my area, you never find old vacs at the thrift store.

Used to be - made in Japan was not good quality. Times have changed.

Many old vacs were made in my state (CT) , like G.E. (Bridgeport) and Electrelux (Old Greenwich)

They show up on CL and people think they are worth a lot.

Neat find. How powerful is the suction?

It looks similar to the:

HS (27877) 12V Car Vacuum Cleaner on Amazon

The suction power on this one is pretty poor. I have never found car vacuums that plug into the lighter socket to be very effective cleaners.
