I looked at this Hoover for a couple of days and today I bought it. I have no idea why or what I'm going to do with it.

Many have called the Hoovers of that era the "zenith" of Hoovers. I have 3 of them.

Perhaps look for a different bag.

An update, cleaned up a bit, sitting with my Hoover Model 63 and a couple of my Kirbys also out getting some sun. I don't know if they need sunscreen or not.

Possible bag?

This guy has a bag which might work/look ok on your 29, but you'd need to find a slide and a spring.

Ok, for all those who said I should get a different bag, I got a shake out bag and new bag clip.

Very nice, similar to mine. I do not like using shake out bags in my house due to a shedding dog. Another collector told me to take a convertible C bag, remove the staples at the bottom, insert and spread the paper around the ring and re-attach the bag to the cleaner, and it works! Now I wish someone made a better filtering C bag, but the older green ones aren't bad.

The Model 29 came with a shake out bag originally.

My Model 63 was the first to use the Type C bags.

It's nice to have friends the have old vac shops, where you can find parts catalogs from the 50's so I now have schematics and parts lists for the 29 and the 63. My 105 on the other hand will require a little more digging, I know that the 105 shared some parts with the 541.
