Y'all like my new Model G?! It was given to me by a fellow collector, already in lovely condition; all I did was give it a good cleaning and waxing.

The photos do not do it justice -- the front and rear covers are far shinier than they appear here. I hand-polished them with Noxon metal polish and OOOO-grade steeel wool then buffed with a soft cloth. Not as chrome-shiny as machine polishing but it does look really nice.

I really like the hose that came with it, even though it's not original. I don't know what vacuum cleaner it originally came with, but it's a perfect match to the color of the Model G.

Of course it purrs like a kitten! The power nozzle runs perfectly, and the main motor is as it should be -- so soft that you can't hear it over the sound of the air rushing into the floor nozzle.

It appears to be an in-between version: It has the front-loading power nozzle port and early-style Belden plug, but the hose handle has the later-style suction relief valve and the power nozzle cord is the later type that's separated at the hose handle.

Very nice! I cant seem to find things like that around here. Turns out EVERYBODY had an Electrolux out here, but still has them or ran them into the ground! I found a little lux at the Goodwill and it was ALL DUCK TAPE! These cityits (combine city with idiot) then go buy the department store Lux which is worse and costs as much as an Aerus of better quality!

That vacuum is in the right home now, of that I am sure! It has no idea how luck it is to find you.

I took some photos of it outside on the balcony this morning. I didn't have to use the flash so the gleaming ends come out more the way it actually looks.

This will be my daily driver for a while. :)

I've always really liked this model. In addition to its "Jetsons-Inspired" design, my Aunt Dabney had this model. Before that one, she had an old Kirby that scared the daylights out of me when I was a little boy. I wouldn't even go into her house when she was using it, which she used to great advantage -- when she didn't want me inside pestering her, she would set it on the front porch knowing I wouldn't go near it!

A couple of years after we moved from Hampton to Rocky Mount (Virginia) in 1961, she sent me a letter with a postcard about Electrolux floor-care machines and a little plastic coin bank that the Electrolux Man gave her with a note saying, "You won't have to be afraid of my Kirby vacuum anymore -- I traded it in on a new Electrolux!"

I have a bank like the one my aunt sent me -- it was given to me quite a few years ago by John Lucia. Arlee and I went to visit him in San Francisco. When we were getting the Grand Tour of his home and vacuum cleaner collection, I saw the bank sitting on his bureau. Talk about plotzing! I hadn't seen one since the one my aunt sent me! I guess John picked up on my excitement -- a couple weeks later a little package came in the mail from him: It was the bank, which he was so sweet and thoughtful to send to me! :)
