Are the upright models from Electrolux or Aerus better than any of the ones from Dyson? Would the Discovery II even outperform the up-to-date DC77?

When I'm talking about Electrolux, I'm talking about the company that's renamed "Aerus", not the one that also owns Eureka and Sanitaire.

Well if you;re referring to the dirty fan vacuum then it will probably be better because the DC77 is a clean air, it's pretty good for a clean air and I have the DC41, it can hold itself to the floor when you let go but not as good as a dirty air. The DC77 has more suction than the DC41 does and so it's designed better aswell than the DC41

Just because it's a dirty air doesn't mean it always clean butter, but I think consumer reports rated the Electrolux on carpet as good. But personally i can't tell you what the Electrolux performs like as a don't own 1 but I have had the Dyson and it's very good vacuum cleaner great at deep cleaning and is a great all rounder and its post to be much more reliable compared to Dysons older models but I'm sure the Electrolux is a great vacuum but can't comment on it as I don't own 1 but you can't go wrong with the Dyson and if you don't like it you can return it.
