Compact 9 rear filter removal

Compact9guy!
I recently did the same with my compact. Seems that the orignal ring is frequently broken from bumping or mis-handling. I found this out after talking with Tri-stars office. The gave me instructions on removal and replacement. It is very easy. I used the appropriate sized drill bit and drilled out the rivets. Careful to vacuum out the metal shards before going any further, I then mounted the new ring and used a "pop-rivet" gun to attach it. If you are un-familiar with the tool, any hardware or auto store will have one with an assortment of rivets. Just find the right size rivet and give the gun a good squeeze and you are done! These tools are pretty cheap and I have never run out of the rivets that came with the original purchase. Good luck!
