I need to buy a new GENUINE Aerus/Electrolux hose for my Ambassador; the generic swivel hose handle fell apart. Then the machine end coupling came off the hose. The electrical connection (handle end) & switch shorted out & burnt.

A similar mishap occured with a generic Lux hose I bought for one of my 1205s

How much $ is too much for a genuine Lux hose? I can't afford to pay more than $100.00 for a new hose.

I am still debating on whether to keep or sell my Epic 6000

You should be able to find a genuine Electrolux hose on eBay for well under $100. Heck, back in the spring, I got a used hose, wand, and PN-5, all in good condition (the hose and wand are excellent and the PN-5 has some cosmetic issues but works great), all for around $35 shipped. Personally, I would opt for a vinyl hose over a woven one.

electrolux hose

Aerus will probably charge you over $100 for a new hose, there is another hose available that will work, it's a bit cheaper, and also provides a switch to turn on and off the power brush, I'll include the link if you want to check it out.
