Hi Guys,

New here on the board. I have a question regarding my Nilfisk gs90. It is in really good condition, but the air coming out of the filter smells terrible. So i was planning on replacing the cotton filter, because that's what smells. I bought the nilfisk secondhand for € 100,- and a new cotton filter is about € 60,-

My question: is it worth to spent a Total of € 160,- in this 20 year old vacuum or Should i sell the nilfisk and invest in a new vacuum? For example a miele Which Will cost me around € 160,-?

A photo of my nilfisk is included in this post.

Thanks for your help!

Tony

Got a picture of the filter? Would it go through the washing machine?

I don't have a picture of it myself, but i took this photo of the internet: www.easi-shop.be/images/product/2...

The filter of my nilfisk is very dirty and the metal round thing is very rusty. So after washing it still will be rusty. But is it worth the money buying a new one for this machine in particular? Or is this a model that doesn't botter people anymore?

I would say YES-replace the filters. The Nilfisk is a supurb machine worth spending the money to fix up.

Hi Tony. Nilfisk is an expensive high quality brand and that's why a spare part costs a lot too. I paid € 700 for my new Nilfisk gs80 here in Switzerland.

It's worth the money!

Thanks Guys for taking some time to reply! I appreciate it.

I was paying my brother in law a little visit for a week in Switzerland (he lives there, beautiful country), pricing over there is insane. A new Nilfisk gm80 will cost you about 325-350 euros here in the Netherlands.

Anyhow, I bought the new filter. I will post pictures of the nilfisk before and after on here when I have it.
