New here.

I read some posts on the bleed tube missing or left off to the difficulty of installing it. With a little ingenuity, it is easy to replace. (Even with the motor in place, like mine was)

The tube is 1/4" vinyl tubing and is 8-5/8" long.
You need about 6 inches of stiff wire.
First step is to to first attach the tubing to the bag chamber.
Stick the wire through the hole where the tube is supposed to exit. Place the vinyl tube on the wire and gently guide the bag chamber down into the canister while holding the wire. The vinyl tube will either come out the hole or be close enough to grab with some needle nose. Attach to the cord winder and you are done.

An older post:
The Super J, Olympia One, and Silverado all used the same motor. One reason the motors don't tend to overheat is the bleed tube, which bleeds clean cool air from the cord winder area into the bag chamber. If you ever take one of those models apart, you have to reattach the rubber cool air tube to the bag chamber and the cord winder in order for the cooling air feature to work. The models 1205 and G had this bleed tube as well, in order to keep the motor cool under extreme conditions.

Was the tube really a cooling feature?

I always thought the hose was part of the auto-shut off feature. Even the plastic machines have a tube. But I'm probably wrong. I'm a noob here still. Anyways, I just assumed that the cool air being sucked into the bag compartment through the hose was more than enough cooling for the motor.
