This is a machine I came across in late May. I process the vacuums at a local thrift store which funds the organization's clinic, food bank, and other financial services. Often, if a machine is not in a sell-able state they will let me take it home and find a use for it.

This was one such machine. It needed a new cleaner head (old one sounded awful and was very dirty), filters, hose, and a good cleaning. The handle release mechanism was also messed up. I was actually kinda exited as I have never had a dc25 before, plus this is a fairly hard to find limited edition version. I really like the color scheme, very striking.

Here are the obligatory before pictures:

And the after pictures...

I was actually able to get an extirely new, matching cleaner head assembly. However, I have yet to find a new matching hose. One of the clips which holds the hose cuff on is broken. It works fine for holding the wand, but I can't use the tools. I may just replace it with a standard hose for use and keep the old one for display. I didn't fully dissasemble everything, just the cyclone. I did remove the ball just enough to view the fan and ensure it was in good shape (no hair caught etc.) All that plus new filters and it's ready to go!

To be honest, if it were a more common varient of the dc25 I would probobally sell it, but with this machine's limited release in mind I think I will keep it. I also like all the little engineering blurbs written at various points on the machine, kinda neat!

Very nice. They are rare over here, let alone over there!

Youll find the old brushroll motor packed with fluff, and possibly the ends of the brushroll damaged. Id be surprised if your new head isnt clogged up if its second hand either.

I did a how to on one if it helps!

I found one!

Well, my own place of work was the last place I expected to find a matching replacement hose. Lo and behold, I went in today intent on purchasing a standard gray replacement hose for the above machine so I could at least USE the tools.....and guess what I found when I opened the box!

A brand new matching hose, right at my own store sitting in with the dyson stuff. But not just one... TWO! I may still buy the second one to save for the future. In fact, we didn't even have any other dc25 hoses!

Here it is with the new hose fitted, I'm much more exited than I thought I would be to have this machine fully functional.

And for dys0nb0y, I have included a few pics of that strange robot vacuum.
