Just wanted to let everyone know that Robert scanned and posted the service instructions for Hoover Concept One and Concept Two machines on Automatic Ephemera. Good step-by-step instructions take you through complete disassembly; a must have if you have never taken one apart, or have always wanted to but didn't know where to start! This covers both self-propelled and non-self-propelled models.

Power drive special wrench

What page did you see mention of the special wrench? I briefly skimmed through the manual and didn't see anything. I don't recall needing any special tools, other than a 1/2 inch offset box wrench to un-do the power drive cable. But unless that's broken, you shouldn't need to mess with it.

I'll eventually buy that manual and I totally appreciate the tip. I actually heard of it where I get parts to fix other people's vacuums.
thank you very much again.
