A little bit of a rant (kind of) here ~

Right so is it just me or what but the Qualtex Turbopower 1 brushroll bearings can be a bit..s**t? Like I got some brand new ones and they sound dreadful! just ugh.

So I don't know if it was just a bad batch or what but.. :/

Sometimes it can be with the belts (not sounding dreadful lol) but they can sometimes be a little rough on the edges or they don't last long at all. Just little nit picking things. Iv'e not had one snap on me yet though (sods law it bloody will when I next use it ;P )

Also it's the same with the Turbopower 1000 brushroll bearings ~

Although I will give them a nice note on the H1 bags they do seem better than the genuine ones.

You have to add grease to them. The ones I get from them have no or little grease in them.

It makes all the difference

I know I wont use their Normal 608 bearings as they are not of good quality. I prefer to buy from a bearing specialist. Problem is that no other industry uses the hoover brushrol bearings so normal bearing shops wont stock good quality ones.

@gsheen

The ones I get seem to be fine. Although thats only been a few months use. I can only say if they're crap after a long period of time.

I would go to my bearings specialist but to far away.

What I noticed was when i was rebuilding motors especially higher speed ones that the bearings bought from various appliance spares wholsalers just didnt sound right. The motor ran fine but especially on their wind down they just didnt sound right. I remembered when I worked at Electrolux that the bearings we ordered had a special designation. I went to see my a bearing guy and he imediatly gave me a better bearing called a 608 C3 . The C3 is for high speed high load. Its also able to handle the heat better and once fitted the motors sound brand new again.

Good to hear you could sort them out. I always pack them with grease when I buy new ones.

Sometimes i just soak the old ones in Diesle to clean them then re grease them. Works wonders too and I think the quality of the older ones are better than the new ones
