HOOVER SENIOR 6525E

Does anyone has had a problem with rear wheels adjustment? (other than spring)
If yes, I'm interested to know how to repair.

Where do I unscrew the hood to access inside the engin?

have a nice day

If you turn the cleaner over,

you'll see2 big screws,by the wide wheels.Loosen them...and the hood will befree to lift off.

So sorry to have left for the convention and not post the promised pics.

Here is a 1970s Convertible,  with the 4 position rug adjustment.

Do you see the 2 screws above the large  wheels?  You loosen them, and remove the hood.

Here's an older Convertible, from the 1960s

It's a 2 position cleaner.  You'll notice the difference in the motor shift also.  Not that the switch is not in the base...as these are American models.

Ifyou remove the2screws and removethe"cap",you'll see the SPRING.Ididn't want to remove it because it's not easy to replace.REMEMBERto make sure the spring is aligned straight,AND is in the correct way.I had the same trouble withone.I put the spring in the wrong way at first. It didn'twork. I hope this helps you.I believe this pic is closer to your model, but,I posted both eras of Convertibles.John

Olivier,

It seems like your Senior is more like my newer Convertible....the gold one w/ floral bag.

Do you see that long sspring...attached to a little hole in the metal base?  You have that hole.  The spring attaches there and goes up to the wheels.  Look carefully at my pic.  That's how the spring goes for a 4 height adjustment.

Also,  the screw on the left is correct for removing the hood.  Our models (American) are different.  I believe that the screw on the right is NOT the right one.  I'll check with Tom Anderson. He has one and he'll surely know.

I'll show pics about the brushes and belt, too.

  bon chance,

 jean
