We have spent some time collating international Dyson serial numbers to incorporate them into a tool that will help with machine identification and parts look up. We are probably over 90% there now. We may be missing some US, Australian and Canadian serial numbers, together with some of the newer Dysons from everywhere.

So if anyone wants to test it, just enter the first three digits of your serial number and it should tell you your Dyson model. If it doesn't recognise your Dyson serial number, please tell us so that we can add it.

Tried it with a DC03 I have lying around and it worked! Same model type and everything!

Will this help determine dates of production etc?

At the moment, we don't have enough reliable info to incorporate dates of production. Most is collated from machines we have had through our hands and/or had questions about parts for.

Its something I wanted to develop to stop people buying the wrong parts because they thought their DC24 looked like a DC25 etc. It will cut down returns for that reason. Also, it will help in the shop because people call us up for prices and say stuff like "Its the purple Animal one".

But more challenging is collating the overseas models.

I don't have reliable enough data to be able to add that functionality unfortunately. Getting the serials we have was hard enough as there are several hundred of them.

But I know we are still missing some US and Oz machines. Later ones especially.

Wanted to give this another nudge as I could still use some help from American, Canadian and Australian members.

Pop in the first three digits of any Dyson machine serial number, I am looking for the ones it doesn't recognise. Those are the ones I need.....

Any help appreciated.

Yes, I have an issue. GC9 shows as a Dc59 animal, when actually it is from a Dc54 animal.

I tried a DC20 and it came up with a DC19, they are almost identical but the dc20 was telescope wrap so usea a few different parts!

Adam, thanks for the reply, now corrected.

Dysondestijl, can you post the first three digits of your DC20 please?

I could still use some help from American, Canadian and Australian members to get this tool right.
