From a previous post you all know I bought a new Vacuum. The Shark Powered Lift Away True Pet. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and I have to admit that I like it but have a few issues with it.
What I do like about it is that the suction is amazing. I used it at the old house right before we moved and after we moved out and I was amazed at how well it worked on the carpet. The dirt, sand and grit that it pulled up out of the old carpet was shocking. We just had new carpets and floors put in at the new house so right now it's just pulling surface dirt and pet hair. I really like all the attachments that it came with. I use the mini powered brush on the furniture and it does a great job, and I love all the different configurations that you can use it as. What I don't like is the hose and handle. I usually use it in the canister configuration on the caddy. The only problem is the stretch hose recoils up and it's hard to pull. I have had to anchor the caddy to a piece of furniture and move it around when I finish with each section. Or I just vacuum the carpets in upright. The handle is heavy and clunky, and when the hose won't stretch the full length it only makes things worse. And it's pretty noisy. The cat's won't come near it like the Rainbow. I think I'll use it when the dog and cat hair gets out of control and stick with the Rainbow. Any thoughts? |

With you 100% about the hose. It feels like your using those workout stretch bands. That was my complaint. My shark doesn't seem that loud to me, but then again, I alternate between kirbys and riccars. It's definitely not as quiet as the prima. The handle is a little bulky, and not very ergonomic for dusting, but I love the led light.
