Just spotted this while having a gander at the Sebo website. The X4 Pet Eco model appears to have been upgraded with a Boost button on top of the hood. The motor wattage is the same, and from reading the blurb, it sounds as though this may work by overriding the automatic height adjustment, thereby forcing the brush deeper into the carpet.
If this is indeed the case, it might solve the issue for those who don't feel the X series adjusts itself low enough. CLICK HERE TO GO TO spiraclean's LINK |

Yep, that's exactly what it does Spira. SEBO UK haven't confirmed as yet on whether it will appear on the rest of the models. When the SEBO goes up to the locked position after cleaning, the height adjustment resets.
The button is recessed because it is supposed to be pushed by the hand, not by the foot. However, as I have pointed out so far, it would just have been easier for SEBO to rebadge the old G1 and bring it back to the UK - i.e manual height adjustment. I adore my SM2 - it cleans a tad lower than the auto sensor models. Bought for my aunt who has been keeping my old 20 year old X1 until she swapped over and took the SM2. |

I will probably get one then, as I don't get along with the auto height adjust models. Like Nar said, I don't know why Sebo don't re-introduce a manual height control model but update it with new colours rather than the traditional commercial grey colour. |

Looks like a really nice touch. You know, it is nice when a company actually improves upon a design and listens to their customers, rather than going backwards which so many manufactures have done in the home appliance's market.
The X1 series are fantastic. The auto head adjustment is a very cleaver design, although not for everyone, I think it would suit people how have different types of carpeting who need to adjust all the time, and the X1.1 still does a brilliant job. There was a thread on VL not so long ago about a guy who bought an X1.1, replacing his Panasonic upright, and it filled a bag in not time at all, so it does deep clean better than people think. |

That was me :). I bought the X1.1 for my better half, who I now live with. His parents have since bought both an X4 and a Felix.
And for the record, our carpets are spotless these days :P

Great new feature on the X4 Pet, nice to see SEBO continue to improve and evolve. Be interesting to see if this new feature will spread to the rest of the X series line up. Or just remain on the Pet model for deeper cleaning for pet owners.
I suppose for the average user the automatic controlled height adjustment takes away the need for them to think about changing it as required when moving from one carpet pile thickness to another etc... But I do agree with you guys I think SEBO should introduce a manual height X series base model. Model line up of say: X Classic or X Manual (entry level) X1.1 (drop in favour of the above) X4 X5 They could drop the X1.1 in favour of a manual height entry/base model now that the motor wattage of the X4 Eco is now same or near as the X1.1 Eco. Or the manual height model could have a 900 watt motor like the original X1 as an entry model. Be interesting as the 2017 law comes in where or what SEBO will do with the popular X series! |

Well, things may change. I know Which? have sent a complaint to the UK measurements committee or some similar organisation over the EU ratings and test data. Come to think about it, my Bosch toaster is 900 watts!
The X series has plenty of life in it to give for the next twenty years. It is probably just one of those designs that SEBO will continue to sell if there's a market for it. They wouldn't necessarily replace anything. What could actually be better is a sensor ON/OFF button - a bit like the kick pedal seen on the Evolution upright, but obviously with a different function. That way the owner can choose between manual adjustment and auto adjustment. |

It certainly is a timeless design. I hope it does last another 20 so years, just shows how popular this design is for SEBO. Why change it...as they say if it's not broken don't fix it or something along that line.....it's a design I do love there is just something about it that just states simplicity. It amazes me still when you look at the side profile of the X series just how slim the bag compartment is. I know we have discussed in the past adding variable suction and brush bar on/off functions to the X series but that would add complex to the simple switch on and go formula SEBO obviously had in made for the X series making it simple to use. You never know though.
You only have to look on say Amazon UK to see recently positive reviews from users of the X series in particular the latest Eco models to see how popular this model still is. I do want to add an X series to go with my Felix at some point. That would be a great feature if they did that! |

I don't suppose they're going to do anything to the 370 Comfort? It seems to of disappeared off the UK site but its still listed on the US and German Corporate websites. |

The Evolution looks like a BS36 replacement to me since it uses the same bags, but it has the X series microfilter. The 370/470 shares the same bag as the X but not the motor pre filter... |
