Hi, I have a friend who has a brand new, never used Commemorative model vacuum in the box, it belongs to a prominent sales manager from here on Long Island, he wants to sell it and told me to make an offer. I want to be fair, I don't want to insult him, I know at one point I heard he was asking $1000 for it, what do you think it is worth?

Which commemorative model are you talking about?

The Golden Jubilee?
The Olympia?
Any of the 75th Anniversary models?

I believe he's speaking about the model 1521 UltraLux Commemorative Edition. It was not sold to the general public, but rather was a top sales prize to salesmen and branch managers. If I remember correctly, it was a limited run of 1000 or less ever made. The VCCC has one and there are a few of us on here who have one, but they are as rare as hen's teeth as the old saying goes! I haven't the slightest idea what a fair price is for one these days, most of the time IF you find one, it's missing pieces, the hose, etc. To find one brand new in the box, to the right collector, could possibly reach the $1000 mark. If you're looking to buy but don't want to insult him, try to get him to throw the first figure out then use it as a negotiation point. Good luck, and if you DO get it, please post a photo of it! Here's what mine looks like....

New in box or not it's an old model without any kind of warranty. I would offer no more than 25%-50% of original list, unless that particular model has some special significance to you. How bad do you really want it?

I remember when I convinced Electrolux's President to give one to the VCCC. I was President of the VCCC at the time, and got us into the factory. No one had seen one before (except Jimmy Martin), and we were all in awe as myself and former VCCC board member Clay Floyd, unboxed it. After I left the VCCC, the machine was hustled around from person to person, and I haven't seen it in almost ten years.

I was given a new Commemorative Edition by Rich Luisi, vice President of Aerus, about five years ago for the Vacuum Cleaner Museum. It's still a rug virgin, and it will be on display at the Museum for the Vacuum Collectors Group Convention the second weekend in June.

Who knows, we might even vacuum dirt with it.

The one belonging to The VCCC is still quite alive.

I've seen in numerous times.  Although it's "not my thing", I certainly appreciate the work of Electrolux vacs.

That's really cool! I'd crap my pants if I ever came across one on Ebay. You're lucky you know the guy. If I owned one, I don't think I'd have the courage to use it. It would just sit around and *ironically* collect dust.

Although the VCCC has it only because of me, I have not seen it since I quit that club almost a decade ago. The last time I saw that it was getting quite torn up being shuffled around from person to person. Sure hope it's okay. The vacuum cleaner museum was given a brand new one in the box by Rich Luisi, vice president of Aerus. It is on display for everyone to see.

I just found this old thread from last year and the conversations just sort of stopped abruptly about it. Did you ever follow up with your friend who had the CE for sale? Just wondering what ever became of it?

Wanted Electrolux Commerative Edition

Hello everyone I have read the above posts from over a few years ago. I know Rich Luisi very well. I worked with him out of his store in Kennesaw GA last year. I am currently in the Syracuse area working for the company. I will be going back down south hopefully this year. I have been with Aerus/Electrolux going on 3 years such a great place to work...but on another note if anyone could point me in the direction of who the manager mite be in Long Island NY who has the Electrolux Commemorative Edition for sale I would like to purchase it. If someone could reach out to me I would appreciate it. I can be contacted at 585-267-6276 call or text. Look forward to hearing from everyone.

Thanks,

Chris Schuldt

Brand New in Box Electrolux Commemorative Edition

Hey everyone. I have acquired a brand new in the original box an Electrolux Commemorative Edition. This machine has all the paperwork brochures sidekick, deluxe floor brush, crevice tool, duster brush. I acquired this from a long time career rep with Aerus formerly Electrolux. This is number 201 out of 1000 that were made for the sales Dept as a contest. This has never been used it’s been in the box and taken out to be shown at some trade shows. It has everything original including the hose which isn’t cracked or anything. I was going to keep it as a collectors item but I’d rather sell it or someone who would appreciate it more than myself. If there is anyone on here who would like to purchase this please reach out to me, before I put it up on Ebay. I’d like to get 13-1500 for it but anything reasonable will be considered. I will attach pictures. Please reach out to me at 585-267-6276

Wow, you have yourself a lucky find there! Such a shame you're selling it, I hope someone would take the best care of it! These are my favorite looking metal body Electroluxes ever, though I wished they made more of these.
