Well after a week of thinking that I will loose out on this machine, it was mine for the grand total of £26, all in all Im not to disappointed the motor sounds good and the overall condition isn't bad (certainly fixable/repairable), the parts it needs are a new screw for the headlight lens as this has unfortunately had the attention of an inexperienced individual trying to take it apart (presumably to replace the bulb), a foot pedal, as in the little piece you put you toe on and a bulb, anyway enough of me here is the machine before a bit of during and hopefully some after shots,
enjoy!

It has an orange fill tube, probably some generic replacement.

So 2 Ariel liquitabs, surf powder in the drum, persil powder in the drawer, Lenor unstoppable's and comfort tropical burst, I think that should be enough to clean and freshen haha.

Now time for a hot soak, then rinse, the hot soapy bath with scrub, then rinse again.

Here is the bath water after, as you can see there is a lot of a silt like substance at the bottom of the bath.

So after a busy evening its time to clean up all that crud that has fell on to the carpet, I will tackle the motor tomorrow and should have it reassembled but for now it is still drying.

Wow

Wow, a lovely vacuum cleaner. The 1354a is one of my favourite vacuum cleaners.

And after a final polish with abrasive polish for those few scuffs here is the finished product, I am extremely happy with the result.
