Here's another cleaner I'm making some progress on (again, with the very generous help of Jonathon Radesky). It now has a NOS Hoover bag, new brush strips, & the attachement converter! (Very rare). Now all that's left to get is a Hoover bag clamp and some attachments!

Your cleaner was essentially British-sourced, although it does have certain parts made here in the U.S. at Hoover's North Canton, OH plant.

This was the successor to the 913 and 918. It was produced from 1978 to 1983. It would be rare if I actually came across one with an orange bag. This cleaner continued being sold in its country of origin through the 1990s, as model C1312 and those last units did have an orange bag.

Interesting--I would think a commercial cleaning customer would use a canister cleaner instead of the adaptor. That way BOTH machines would be working at once!Get the job done faster!

That most certain DOES make more sense, that's why the Hoover Commerial Porta-Pac was part of the same commercial line-up and most companies bought the Porta-Pac.That's why these adaptors & the tools are VERY rare!

The grey Herringbone original NOS bag I just bought on eBay not only does not fit, it's way to small too, almost smaller than a convertible bag. I do t understand why either, I thought this was the only cleaner with this bag.

That bag fits the newer commercial vacs, not the real old ones. Check the convertible you have with the Orange bag & I'm pretty sure it will fit that one.

Specifically, the bag you want for your machine would have a black bag top on it as well. Early machines did say "HOOVER Commercial" on the bag patch below the red Hoover logo, but later ones said "Heavy Duty" over that same logo.

The bag you're trying to make fit on your U7037 is likely intended for models U7055, U7057 and U7059 only.

Here is a scan of a circa 1979 Hoover brochure showing models U7037 and U7057 together. Per specs, the U7055/7/9's bag holds 23 quarts while the U7037's holds 32 quarts.

Austin,

Yes I am. I thus wish you luck in finding a proper 32-quart bag for your U7037.
