So just curious guys, how many of you have a pair that seem to make sense together to use and are go to for working well? I always felt seperate canister/tank and upright worked better for me, if one has the room and dollars to do it. Grew up only with canisters, but not as easy for me now in tight space, still need it. I pair my Silverado which does have powerhead, but not deep cleaning with my carpets and takes a while to set up, with my Royal upright. Works well here. You guys? Any teams you like?

The 8 pound Maytag M500 is always paired in my house with the 75th Anniversary Edition Rainbow.

At the Vacuum Cleaner Museum, we pair the Central Vacuum (for the dusting) with the Maytag M1200 Tandem-Air upright.

I agree with you. It makes sense to have the proper tools for the job. I have several machines at my disposal—two Electrolux canisters (a 1205 and now a Super J) and three Kirby uprights (two G6's and a G5)—and use each for the jobs they're best at. I use my Electroluxes—sans Power Nozzle—on the hardwood floors and the Kirbys G5 on the carpeted areas.

I've got full sets of tools for all of the above machines so I can switch things up if I feel so inclined but why mess with success?

But for daily drivers im using my 58 801 Royal, which is my all time favorite upright and my kindergarten teachers 1962 910 Eureka.

team is my Kirby G4 and my Rainbow D4C. It's a pain to get the water replaced and the to dump out, but, hey totally worth it.

I pair my VacuFlo 766 and Aerus Electrolux Power Nozzle attachment set with my 100th Anniversary Hoover Windtunnel Power Drive. The central vacuum set up mostly gets used on the first floor to vacuum both carpet and bare floors, while the Windtunnel gets used on the second floor to vacuum 5 bedrooms of wall to wall carpet.
