I finished an excellent read last night, two police detectives were investigating a puzzling homicide and one of the factors involved was a overheated, older Kirby vacuum that was near the deceased man, who had been taped to a chair and tortured before being suffocated with a plastic bag.

The guys were puzzled as to why the vacuum cleaner had been turned on and left running in the upright position, and when one mentioned the strangeness of that to another detective, that woman detective told asked him if he had ever used a vacuum cleaner, and he told her not that he remembered.

She told him, quote: "Kirbys are supposed to be excellent for cleaning, but they are very high on the noise scale. I think maybe the killer was using the vacuum for noise cover...."

Wouldn't think the Kirby would overheat even if used for this "purpose"the Kirby motor is cooled by its own fan.In theory it should run continuosly without problem.
