Hello,

I'm looking for a new canister with a powernozzle. I had tried a Kenmore from our local Kmart, but was less than impressed with quality of it along with the dust chamber filling with dirt due to poor bag support gasket.

I want to make sure the new vac has excellent HEPA filtration and a very aggressive brush roll for pet hair on berber carpet.

I see that Simplicity has a Snap model with a METAL brush roll, but it is fairly price for a compact; in my mind anyway. How about any of the current Panasonics (Optiflow, etc). Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Try the Shark Powered LiftAway Canister. Sears and Macy's has them. It has an "Anti-allergen complete seal."

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty the Panasonic and Kenmore canisters are the same thing just different names/colors.

Thank you!

I looked at the Wonder's posts earlier on this website. Looks like a great machine. However, it is not on Simplicity's website? Any price estimate for it?

If you can afford it, I would vote for Simplicity/Riccar, Miele or Sebo in about that order. If that's out of the price range, then in my opinion the best power nozzle canister for the money is the Panasonic MC-CG917. The other two bagged Panasonic canisters are just about equally good. All of these have bags - bags generally mean less allergy problems.

Of them, Simplicity/Riccar have the best power nozzles, I think. The Wessel Werk nozzles used by Miele are good too. Sebo makes their own nozzles which are very durable. I don't think they're as good at deep cleaning as the others, but a Sebo will last forever unless you abuse it horribly.

If you really want a bagless, the Shark Lift-Away isn't bad, and at one time Dyson had a motorized power nozzle canister, if you can still get it. I don't /love/ Dysons, but they are some of the best bagless vacs going. I'd steer clear of the air-driven nozzle versions, though, unless you only have very small area rugs - they don't agitate well *and* the turbine robs airflow.

The Panasonic will prob have the Kenmore problem. I have put a bit of tape on the colar to the bag on mine when installed, no problem after that.
