This is one of the vacuums from my childhood that I was fascinated with, our friends across the street had one,my Dad was too cheap to buy us an expensive vacuum,all we had was a Hoover Convertible,love them now,so I won this one on e-bay a few years ago,I was the only one that bid so I got it for 10.00 plus shipping,I waited and waited probably a month or so, I contacted the lady and she said a twister touched down and destroyed her e-bay room and that she said she sent me an e-mail,I never got it,so she said she figured I didn't want it,I said I definately want it so she sent it,When it finally arrived I was expecting the worst,much to my surprise when I opened the box it looked pretty good,The only thing visible now is the attachment holder is cracked,at first the moterunit wouldn't sit on the canister properly so it wasn't sealing right,a few little adjustments and its good as new,also you have to look real close to see the handle mounts are pushed down very slightly,I was suprised to get the vibrator and hair dryer with it, I bought the Power Polisher and paperwork in different auctions. Lovely! And Kitty looks pleased! is this the two-speed motor? On low speed it's so soft you can barely hear it running.

Although, I imagine the Hoover Afficionados here would take exception to your characterization of the Converible as "cheap!" I wonder what the price differential was between a Convertible and Filter Queen of that vintage.

Hi Charles, It's the first time Cassie has seen this one,I guess she approves,with all the Filter Queen posts lately I thought I would get it out an give it some use,It's been stashed away in a closet for a while,it is a two speed model,thats not the wheel dolly it came with,it's the one from my 80's model,it rolls sooo much easier,it came with the cheap replacement hose with the original ends,I'd like to get a new Filter Queen hose and change the end on this one so I could use different attachments,like the air driven p/n from my Riccar Canister, I din't say the Hoover was cheap, I said my Dad was LOL,I have more Hoovers in my collection than anything,my earliest memories are our Convertible,I was 4 or 5,I could run the vacuum I just wasn't allowed to plug it in I had to go get an adult,I remember going to Foleys department store to buy it,it was fresh out of the box,but can't remember what model it was,I do remember,we bought the tools also because my last memory of it later,I was vacuuming the car and the motor burned up,I just ran inside and unplugged it,I was afraid to tell them what happened.
