Hey everyone, new to the site but have been browsing off and on for a while now. I have a Riccar 8715 with motor related issues that I'm looking to repair, and need some help from someone who's more knowledgeable than Riccar, and possibly Simplicity, than myself.

Basically it sounds like the fan is shot and smells like the carbon brushes may be bad. However, I can't seem to find schematics or diagrams for this model anywhere online. Since I have other machines to work on and limited time, I'd rather not play with it until I know I can locate parts, which brings me to my question... Does anyone know where I could either procure schematics for the 8715, or schematics for a similar enough Riccar model or equivalent Simplicity model?

What you have seems to be very similar to the now discontinued Simplicity 7850. However Riccar still makes a model just like this that is now called the 8955. I could not find any parts schematics doing an online search however I know they are out there however when I access them I am logged on as a dealer at work. I would locate a Riccar or Simplicity dealer in your area and ask them about being able to source some parts for you.

Ah, great! Thank you so much for that model information!

When it comes to contacting a dealer, that's the problem, I work in a shop that is not a Riccar authorized dealer any longer. However, I'm pretty sure one of our distributors has managed to snag an 8715 schematic for me! We'll see...

I hope it works out for you. These machines are built like tanks and are excellent cleaners. Hope yours can get fixed.
