Have no idea where this machine came from, age if it's original. They are very rare over here. Anybody knows something about it?

I'm guessing '55ish, that was one of my "training" vacs when I was little. I think the colors were from a designer by the name of Freda Diamond if I remember correctly. I had two aunt/uncles that had the same one, a very popular model of the time. It was the first "swiveltop" on wheels.

pink GE

This is a good and common 50s US vac with the famous 'Swivel Top'.Seems to be in very good, complete and uncommon condition. The first GE Swivel Top canister was 1952 at $99.00.Then yearly they were followed by the C-1,C-2,etc.The price was lowered and sales increased. This should be a C-3 or 4 of about 1955.Early models had polished metal hose intake, then pink plastic. It was color styled by Freda diamond in coral, pink & brown. The styling included matching original cord and floor bristles. The above hose is replaced(was brown vinyl).Instructions at rug/floor nozzle are correct. Not sure if lighter paper near bags is for this or other GE.First Swivel Tops had no wheels, then removable dolly,in late 50s they had deluxe and standard and by 1960 a cordwinder model and tool clips or bucket for most.

Hey Edgar:

That would be a General Electric Model VIIC3 from 1956. Here's a picture of mine. You need a brown hose and brown cord for it.

I think,

The polished swivel top was 55, then the pink plastic as you have came out in 56 and used thru 57,the C-4 came out in 58, similar but a different color, all these were really good cleaners and that GE motor will run forever!
