On the back of my Ult G handle about half way down from the top there is a slot molded. I just reread my manual and it doesn't even mention it. Does anyone know what its for?

Coin slot-you put coins in the slot that you pick up as you vacuum.Avoids damaging the fan.And some Kirby salesmen touted you could use the slot like a "bank" to save for your Kirby monthly payments-often the salesman would put a quarter in the slot to encourage the buyer to save.

That's also why the handle's back panel is secured with a wing nut that doesn't require a screwdriver to remove. They want you to get in there easily to collect your change.
