I know Hoover sold many exclusive models at Sears over the years. In the late 80s and and very 90s Hoover produced at least 2 Convertible models in the exact same color scheme as the PowerDrive above. One had a 1060-esque hood and the other was the "ranger" style. I know for sure the ranger model was also marketed under the Kenmore name. So I imagine this Hoover was sold just around the same time, probably right as the Convertible was being phased out, which would aline with that model's introduction anyway. Maybe '93-'94ish?
I have never heard about nor seen this variation. Hoover PowerDrives are rare as it is. If you have the chance, you should definitely pick this up. |

I don't recall this one, but I too, knew Hoover had made some Kenmore vacuums.
Going by the logo, this is probably 1996 or later. That Kenmore logo was first introduced in late 1995, and I may be wrong, but I thought that style Hoover first came about in 1995. And my 1991-92 Sears catalog shows the two Convertible models mentioned above, if that gives any idea. The 1993 has only Kenmore uprights in it, and they're all clean air models. |
