Hi all

I picked up a nice Lux 65 from ebay last week

Works brilliantly, is lovely and smooth and soft, but, as usual the hose is shot.

Are the hose ends removeable on these? Initial look says no, but has anyone ever done it before?

Doubt latex lining would be easy to do, are there any other things I could do to repair the hose to have suction again and still look nice?

Anyone got a spare hose if not that they would be willing to sell?

Short answer - yes the ends are removable and can be put on a new hose but its a fair bit of work to get them off.

Well that's interesting that it could be done. Am happy to destroy the ruined hose to fit a plastic one and get the machine usable again, don't suppose you have any pointers on where to start so I don't loose a finger or anything do you?

done this by putting the ends into a bucket of boiling water once the heat has loosened the glue you can pull the ends off takes a bit of doing though

I need to boiling water the tool end of the hose to at least turn the rubber grip around as it's upside down.

Sadly the hose is off and in the bin, but I can now put a plastic hose on and at least use it!

Electrolux za 65 hose removal

Hi
I am having the same problem with the hose on my ZA 65, its the wrong hose and was wondering how I could remove the ends without causing damage. I know I want to replace them with the Hoover double stretch hose from the 1960s, they are strong and very flexible, unlike the platted nylon ones.
I will try the boiling water and see what happens. It shows that the old blogs are still very useful.

regards
Loen
