So I wanted some sort of cordless vacuum that is small, light and handy, mainly so that I can wiz over the hard flooring everyday to keep it looking nice, as currently doing it with my array of vacuums is proving less than practical. The felix parquet head is very good at the finer particles but doesn't cope with larger dirts, same goes for the dyson and the others I have.
I know for a fact just how good Dyson carbon head it for hard flooring as I tried one out in currys and asked them to put larger dirt which they had already to simulate things like cat lire and dried on mud etc. So I phoned up Dyson and said to the nice lady, "Look, Dysons are far from the cheapest vacuums you can buy, but I have bought two DC41 MK2's which I am very happy with and I wish to purchase a cordless vacuum for my convenience. Can you give me anything special"? She said "Certainly sir. I can give you the trade in price plus £10 off without you trading anything in, so £70 off in total, I can also throw in a free tool kit consisting or a high-up dusting brush, stubborn dirt brush, flexible hose and the new carbon fibre dusting brush, the kit worth £60, as well as a filter for this and both DC41MK2's so I can swap them over when washing them out." I think that isn't too bad considering that is quite powerful cordless at 100 air watts on max setting. Biggest problem with handhelds I think is the dust separation which is typically horrible, but if this is anything like my dc41, then the filter will hardly ever need cleaning. Should receive it on Tuesday and shall post picture and a summery of what I think. | ||

You have made a great choice! I want to get either a DC44 or DC59. Also I want to get either the DC41 mk2 or the big ball Cinetic. | ||

No, haven't had one ever ahah. I posted saying that dyson would have said they would give me a DC45 think it was to be for around half price but it would have to be a review thing, that was when I registered my dc41's, but at the time I didn't want one, as the 59 was out and it is a better vacuum. Just wish we had the motorhead in the UK.

I will always have a Dyson cordless around!
I love my DC59, and have been a happy Dyson cordless user since the DC16. With the filtration, power, versatility and battery life, it's still unmatched in the category. I've seen people on here scoff at the battery life, but in use it's actually excellent. I've cleaned my car, and then my home, on one charge with the DC59.
I've said this here before, but I consider the optional Dyson handheld tool kit essential. It comes with an extension hose (GREAT for the car and dusting furniture), a soft dusting brush, a stiff bristle brush, and a mattress tool. I would also recommend utilizing the wall charger, and in a convenient location, so it's always ready to go. I keep upgrading, and the new V6 Absolute has my attention! | ||

DC59 has about 25 mins runtime ai think, but its longer in reality because nobody will be holding the trigger for 25 mins tho will they lol | ||

Absolutely love mine, and it gets a lot of use around here. So easy to grab at a moment's notice when we want to vacuum puddy hair off the sofa, give the kitchen floor a once over or quickly zip around just before guests come to visit. The suction power is good, and both the mini motorised head and carbon fibre head have plenty of grunt, so I can't fault the pickup performance. The compatibility with all other Dyson click-fit tools (bar the turbine head, which would be redundant anyway) is another nice feature, because it makes for a very versatile cleaner indeed.
I do sometimes use this for an in-between clean if I don't have the time or inclination to get the Sebo out. Even going through the whole flat, which is fairly sizeable, I am still yet to run out of charge during a session, although I might need to empty it a couple or three times. And of course it's handy for cleaning out the car, without the hassle of running an extension cable. Usually I'm not Dyson's greatest fan, but this had me eating my own words a little. It has arrived! I am in love with it. It is such a gem and I am so impressed with its performance. The motor makes a really cool noise, one that I have never heard before, when you let go of the trigger and it winds down it sounds like a turbine, so weird but that is a characteristic of their digital motor. The suction on normal mode is around the same as my felix on the lowest suction level. I thought it would be wimpy on my plush carpets but you can actually feel it stick down to it, and it picks most things up in one pass. I have not used my felix since getting it, haven't felt the need to. What is amazing is how quickly you can get the cleaning done. I did my stairs and visors properly in about 3 minutes, and it actually grooms the pile.
The amount of dirt you collect is very impressive, not just surface dirt, but you can see the grit and dust in their as well, and of course the filter is just as clean as when I got it, which was only on Tuesday, but I have used it all the time and emptied the bin probably about 6 times now. 26 minutes doesn't sound a lot but it is fine for what most people need. No fade at all in suction power, and once the charge has run out, it really has run out. My Bosch athlete, you can feel the power decrease as you use it. On max mode, it bogs down on the carpets, I haven't used it in this mode really, as the charge only last 6 minutes and I haven't felt the need to. The mini motorised tool has more power than my Electrolux stair and car vac, it doesn't slow down and it pivots upright to do the visors in stairs and helps with the contours in the car. The main head actually agitates ever so slightly, not as much as the felix but more so than other mains powered uprights I have had. I thought it would be like a carpet sweeper, but their is actual power there. 28 air watts sounds like nothing but considering the suction doesn't have to travel far and the sealant is so good, it has proven to be just fine. On hard floors is where it really does put larger vacuums to shame. It picks up larger chunks really well and dust the floor, and the dirt that you see collecting it shocking. It is expensive for what it is, but it really is well worth it. For someone with mainly hard floors in their house or for small homes, this is perfect. I will post pictures later today which I took when I got it, over filled the bin in about 15 minutes. | ||

Thanks Marcus. If you are interested in getting one, I spoke to the Dyson guy and he said as a loyal dyson customer or basically someone who ahs purchased from dyson before, they will either offer you £110 off any dyson vacuum, or they will give you the current trade in offer without you trading anything in, and usually a free tool kit as well, and as I just mentioned, many filters ahaha !

I have the pictures of as much detail as I can get. This filth was mainly from our stairs and living room area rug which is vacuumed regularly with the SEBO.
