Does anyone own/have experience with these machines. I am interested in model 5207C or 5207Y but not sure what the difference is between them. The features description on the Bissell website lists the same features for both machines.

Thanks.

Gary

My ex-wife had one. I couldn't tell you what the model number was. It was a fairly small one that cost us about $65 at Walmart in about 2002. I do remember the thing was easy to use and worked pretty well on both upholstery and carpet. Because it was small, it was easy to haul out, use, and put away in just a few minutes. We had three cats and a sloppy kid in the house, so it got lots of use.

I got one about eight years ago.

I had an old dog, and a young kid, both pukers.

The Spot Bot does a very good job with quick clean ups.  After awhile you don't even notice the crop circles through out the house.

Mine has a hose to do stairs and upholstery as well as cars, but the small tank (about one quart) limits how much you can do at a time.

Hi Gary,

I'm in the market for the very same kind of stain remover. Will be interested to hear your review before I get one....they seem to be on sale now at Sears Canada.

Hope you are well!

Hi Brian,

I bought mine on-line from Bissell Canada. There are 4 models that look identical - just a different colour however they come with different tools. The descriptions on the website however are identical. I sent an email to Bissell customer support to find out what the differences were. The descriptions for model 5207C and 5207Y were identifical and they were the same price $119.99. I went to Walmart and they had the 5207C however when reading the description on the box it did NOT come with the deep clean tool as was advertised in the description on the website. The email from customer support confirmed this. Since Bissell on-line had free shipping, I ordered from them.

Gary - thanks for this guidance. Any idea which tools are the ones to get? We have no pets - this would just be for food stains (wine, juice, etc.) and black shoe tracking stains on very light carpet.

Would you know if you can by optional tools later to work with the 5207 series machines?

Look forward to hearing your impressions after using your Bissell.....

Brian,

The model 5207Y which I ordered comes with 2 tools - one is the regular type which comes with all carpet/ulphostery cleaning machines. The nozzle is about 3 inches wide and has the bristles for scrubbing and the narrow slot for sucking up the liquid. This tool you hold above the carpet to spray the cleaner onto the carpet. The 2nd tool is the deep clean tool which has lots of rubber like needles which inject the liquid into the carpet. This tool is placed on the carpet and then the cleaner is sprayed deep into the carpet fibres hence why they call it the deep clean tool. It looks like there are some optional tools that can be purchased separately.

Thanks Gary. I will definitely look for a package that includes the Deep Clean tool.

The cleaner arrived on Thurs. so I tested it out. It was easy to assemble. It came with a sample bottle of cleaner and a bottle of oxy boost. On the clean water container there are markings for the amount of water, cleaner and oxy clean to use depending on whether you are just cleaning a small area or a larger area. You add the water, then the cleaner and then the oxy boost. This model came with 2 tools. One is the regular style of carpet cleaning brush and the other is called a Deep Clean tool. It has about 16 rubber needles through which the cleaner is ejected. The tool is placed directly on the carpet, squeeze the trigger and the solution is injected deep into the carpet. You then release the trigger and do a reverse stroke to allow the solution to be sucked into the cleaner. It works very well. The dirty water is deposited into a second tank. Unfortunately only about 1/5 of the tank is filled before it has to be emptied so if you were using a full tank of solution in the clean tank, you would have to empty the dirty tank a few times. Overall I'm impressed with the machine.

In the UK we're only just getting the Bissell 5207Y machine. I still have my Little Green machine and I love it. So handy for so many jobs, not least for the fact that the tool can be taken off the hose and it can be used to suck out water when the pump in my dishwasher gets clogged. Id buy the 5207Y and corresponding models again if I had to.
