this is me cleaning the roof of my house last year and yes i am using a vacuum cleaner [but what kind]Last year i had external insulation fitted to my house and while the scafolding was up thought i might as well clean the roof as well .The roof was thick with moss that had been baked in the sun when the moss comes away it falls into the gutters blocking them so after loosening it with a scraper on a long pole i tried sweeping it with a brush it was hopeless the stuff was flying all over the place and the dust was really bad so i decided to vacuum i coupled together two extra long Henry hoses and used extension tubes from various machines so that i could reach the top and i have to say it worked a treat

Anthony,

By looking at your photo's, I find it rather interesting. A G5 Kirby, well you made it earn the money spent. personally I would not line up one of my Kirby's for such an exercise, but I have to say you did a remarkable job.

Here in South-Africa we tend to have much dust gather above the ceiling, below the roof covering, may that be, Sleight, Tiled roof or tin.

A company called Tecsa-reco sells hoses at 20m and 30 m lengths not only for central vacuum systems but also for the purpose like these. You connect the ends and have no connections in between, not lacking suction.

You certainly thought on your feet. Well done.

hi guys

please dont worry about the Kirby its a donor machine someone gave me for parts although the motor is fine the floor head and handle were missing and if it decides its had enough and stops working there are at least 5 or 6 others ready to take its place
