How easy is it to replace the top bearing on this machine? It's a 1976 Eureka Wild Moss Continental. It's sounding a little dry.

My machine is a Eureka The Boss, and an answer to your question is Yes. it can be a little challenging, especially changing the carbon brushes. I had to replace the bearing because the fan was sounding very noisy. The top piece was very rusty and the bearings were shot. So I replaced it, and it works fine now, but it does not like brushroll belts. I tried it the first time and it burned the belt right through. Here is a picture: (NOT MY PICTURE)
