Just bought 2 belts from a local vac shop...they sure look like they are for a junior...definitely not for convertible.

When I install the belt it's good for 30 seconds and then rides up onto the base of the shaft of the pulley.

Has anyone found that not using Hoover brand belts makes this much difference?

So, I took out one of my convertibles and used the bag sealing rubber belt. Now this works just fine. Why?

Thanks!

Guy

I bet you have the right belts, they are just on backwards. Try turning the belt the other way on the motor pulley. I bet it works just fine. There should be a drawing of the belt installation somewhere on the machine or the cover. Let us know how it works out.

I think I may have fiqured it out. When I was placing it on the pully, I may have put a half twist on it. I tried again carefully, and it seems to be holding!

Thanks for the offer of belts Mike, I will keep you in mind for the future. Where abouts in NY are you? I'm 40 minutes North from Buffalo.
