Everyone always loves on the old metal base Comvertibles, which is fine...I have a couple and love them! But let's see some pics of your plastic base Convertibles! I think they're just as great and am really considering adding some to my collection when funds allow...especially a U4335 or U4127!

color really has aged well. I have a Concept II that color and it might be my coolest looking Hoover.

My gray Hoover is a bit yellowed

as it is the one from the "vault". That happened a lot.

Convertible- a lovely model U4387. Not sure on the year (anyone know?) but it is and always has been a formidable tank of an upright.

This must be a popular model! I found this a couple weeks ago and still haven't cleaned it up. This isn't even my first. I had one just like it a few years ago but the base cracked so I parted it out. The motor, handle, bag, hood and brushroll all got reused. I'm not sure what year but I would guess mid 80's

Here's the ad for it. But no date.
By the way 16 foot cords are way too short on an upright. What were they thinking?

Here's another one, it is still buried but I found a before picture. This one cleaned up pretty nice and I remember it being a beast, the suction pulled the carpet up quite a ways. This was my first Convertible with more than 5 amps.

I always wondered why they

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
didn't have a f ull bumper AND a handle grip on that vac. I have 2 of them. Yes, a very short (too short) cord. But, it cleans like a champ w/ a great bright light.

I found a u4387 at Goodwill two years ago. It was $8 and I passed it up. I got to thinking about it and went back to get it...and it was gone. I still kick myself hard for that decision! Beautiful machine!

THat green on was VERY popular.

And, oddly, for a basic vac, it has a handle grip! I love those handle grips. Fred Stachnick brought one a few years ago to a convention to raffle. It was stunning. I don't remember who won it. I have 1 anf a half of them. Someday, I MUST attack it and get it looking fabulous once more. LOTS and LOTS of those cleaners sold.
