Hey Guys-

This was my very first wet n dry. not this particular machine however, this specific model.

I was still in school and at the time repaired vacuum cleaners for people, taking the ones thrown out and repairing them, replacing the broken parts even if it meant gran and I, driving around the entire school holiday, hence 4 times a year, to fit the original part.

The first time I saw the advertisement of the aquamaster at that time the 17litre drum, I had to have one. It boggled me as how can a vacuum cleaner be a vacuum cleaner, and a wet n dry and even shampoo carpets. This was to good to be true.

With later versions as the Hoover Aqua Jet, that was fitted with a water spray pump, this one had to rely on the pressure pushed by the outlet air of the motor, hence not spraying, but merely wetting the carpet and simultaneously vacuuming it up into the drum. This was an advertising so called advantage shampoo your carpets and have them dry in no time. See youtube advert on the aqua master. The water flow was stopped by a simple mechanism that clips onto the handle should you decide to refrain from water, it stops the flow. It blocked the pipe by pushing it against the handle when switched to no water stopping the flow, similar to when you pinch a straw in the middle and then no water will flow through. At the time VAX had their machine with the spray pump, and if you were not following the instructions carefully, you may have had the problem of over wetting carpets by spraying in excess causing water marks and stains, if not extracting out all the moist. Believe me that is a gym workout if you have ever had one.

Gran's only grandchild always gets what he wants and I found one advertised in the south of Johannesburg which was unused at a very good price.

At the time these models in the mid to late 1980's was sold at R 799.99 which at that time was a how do you do. But forward we went.

In the photos you will notice that it has 2 sets of equipment, the wet and dry tools and then the equipment for shampooing, hence the carpet and secondly the upholstery tool. The first Aqua master had the 17 litre drum and the de Luxe the 22 litre drum, allowing for less pit stops cleaning. This model in discussion is fitted with the permanent filter and the paper filter dustbag, and at 1100 Watt has an extremely strong suction. The paper bags are cool, as when it needs changing, pull it out, chuck it and insert a clean one. no polluting the entire southern hemisphere in a fine grey dust that crawls in everywhere.

My apologies for the photos that was taken upside dowm, I guess you guys will have too stand on your heads should you want to read it the right way around. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Many Thanks
Adrian
